Our PYP Program of Inquiry
At Loomis Basin Charter School, the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Program of Inquiry is the heart of our K–5 curriculum. It weaves together key concepts, knowledge, and skills across subject areas through meaningful, student-centered units called Units of Inquiry. These units are designed around six globally significant transdisciplinary themes that help students explore who they are, their place in the world, and their responsibilities to others and the planet. Guided by curiosity and driven by inquiry, students make real-world connections, engage in hands-on learning, and develop the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. The Program of Inquiry ensures a balanced, rigorous, and reflective approach to teaching and learning—empowering our students to become thoughtful, caring, and active participants in their own learning journey.
