IB Learner Profile

The IB Learner Profile at Loomis Basin Charter School

The IB Learner Profile is the heart of the International Baccalaureate (IB) mission, translated into a powerful set of learning outcomes for 21st-century students. It defines the attributes we aim to develop in all learners, shaping students who are not only academically capable, but also thoughtful, compassionate, and internationally minded.

At Loomis Basin Charter School, the Learner Profile serves as a guide for teaching, learning, and personal growth. These ten attributes help students become aware of their responsibilities to others and the world around them. They also provide a shared language for setting goals, planning Units of Inquiry, and reflecting on learning outcomes.

The Learner Profile is embedded throughout all IB programs, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP), ensuring a consistent and holistic approach from early education through graduation.
