Katherine Abele - Music Teacher

I started working in LUSD in the spring of 2023.  I am extremely excited to be teaching in a district where there is high value in the arts and arts education. Prior to teaching in Loomis, I taught 1st-5th grade general music as well as Middle School Choir in Los Gatos, CA from 2008-2018. During that time, I was awarded the Goldin Foundation Award for Excellence in Education.

 

I received her Orff Schulerk certification through the San Francisco International Course in 2009 under the direction of Doug Goodkin, Sofia Lopez-Ibor, Paul Cribari, Christa Coogan, Richard Layton, and others. She has also studied for a year at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria. Studying with 14 music educators from around the world, I earned the Advanced Degree in Music and Dance Education- Orff Schulwerk.

 

I am excited to create music with the students of LBCS!
