Hello!
I am excited to take on the role of IB Coordinator and Design teacher this year at Loomis Basin Charter School. I started teaching in 1997 and became a part of the amazing LBCS community in 2011. I hold a Bachelor of Science in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development, as well as a Masters of Science in Education, focusing on Reading and Literacy. I have experience teaching students at many different ages, and I enjoy them all!
I was born and raised in the Great Lakes state, Michigan. After college, I moved to California and now live in Folsom with my husband, my mom, and our pets. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, go to movies, listen to music, cook, and read!
Teaching is truly my passion and I have wanted to be a teacher since a very young age. After my own experiences as a student, I realized what an impact an adult can make in a child's life, whether for good or bad. Beyond learning rich curriculum, growing as a learner and thinker, and developing problem-solving skills, my goal each year for every student is to leave school knowing that they are loved. I look forward to expanding that goal to a school level!
