Ms. Amanda Buchanan

Hi! My name is Amanda Buchanan and I am very excited to be joining the Loomis Basin Charter School community this year to teach 3rd grade! This will be my 4th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years. I received my B.A. in Child Development and teaching credential from Sacramento State. 

I am originally from the Bay Area but fell in love with the community here during my time at Sac State and decided this is exactly the place I want to call home. Outside of school I love going to the lake, listening to live music, trips to Disney and spending time with my dog, Mason!

I have long had a passion for working with children and it is always my goal to create an environment that fosters both their development and education. I am passionate about encouraging their individuality and guiding them to develop the skills they will need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally not just in the classroom but also in life. I am looking forward to a great year and getting to know all of you!
