Loomis Basin Charter School (LBCS) is a dependent charter school in the Loomis Union School District.  Our school is located adjacent to the Franklin Elementary campus in Loomis.  Although our campus is small, it doesn’t lack character.  When asked about LBCS, many people will say it is a “very special place”. I couldn’t agree more!  

Loomis Basin Charter School is an  International Baccalaureate School (IB) with both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade and Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students in grades sixth through eighth.  An IB education promotes educating the whole person, emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth through all domains of knowledge. Students will receive an international education, cemented on character education as a foundation to develop respect and responsibility. The school will educate students for a life of active, responsible citizenship that fosters students' recognition and development of universal human values. The learner profile is a profile of the whole person as a lifelong learner. 

As part of our IB units of study, we offer Music, Art, STEAM and Design.  In addition, Spanish is taught in every grade Kindergarten through eighth. The teachers at LBCS are highly qualified and among the finest educators in the area. The time and commitment levels that it takes to be a faculty member at LBCS is exorbitant and they are up for the challenge! 

Our new motto for the 23-24 school year is “World Size Hearts and World Class Minds” This motto perfectly defines the education goals of LBCS as we work in harmony with our families to raise children who exemplify attributes that will help our students experience a lifetime of success.
